This week the series heads back to Bristol Motor Speedway after a year away from the high-banked track. The previous 5 Pro Cup races held at Bristol have seen our race run on a Wednesday night as a precursor to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. This year the USARacing Series is the headline event!
There's always a lot of excitement and buzz in the air whenever a race at Bristol is about to happen. This race will usually coax a few extra drivers out of hibernation to participate. It pays the same as a typical Pro Cup race and the points are the same as a typical Pro Cup race, but somehow this race just isn't typical. Maybe it's the unpredictability of racing at Bristol. The speeds are high and things happen in more of a hurry than usual. We've seen some great races at Bristol for the Pro Cup series and we've seen a few that had their share of rough moments. If the drivers can calm their nerves and get past the opening dozen or so laps and first restart, then the race is on!
This Bristol race will be the 6th race at the track for the series and will also be the longest race USARacing has held at Bristol. There will be 50 more laps of excitement over the past races which were limited to 150 laps. More laps is good!

No driver is expected to be completely confident about the half-mile Concord Speedway. The track's eccentricities make it a difficult stop for veterans and rookies alike. USAR Pro Cup Series rookie Logan Ruffin, admittedly, isn't an exception; however, you would have never noticed it by the level of comfort the Memphis, Tenn. native had with his Turner Motorsports Chevrolet this past Saturday night in the Cabarrus Boys & Girls Club 250.
Ruffin, an astute qualifier as of late, placed his No. 31 Chevrolet inside the second row during the day's time trial session. Starting third at the infamously tricky track proved to be a coup for Ruffin, who ran inside the top five until an aluminum oil fitting broke, forcing the car to drop oil onto the track. The issue prompted two black flag penalties inside the final 20 laps.

Abingdon, VA. (August 29, 2010) – This past weekend at Concord Speedway was the first championship race for the USARacing Pro Cup Series, where Caleb Holman and Henderson Motorsports came home with the pole, a second place finish and a tie in the point’s battle with Clay Rogers.
Race day started off great being the fastest in both practices and clinching the pole with a lap time of 16.836. Holman then went on to dominate the first half of the race up until lap 127 when the first caution of the night came out.
He then brought the Food Country Chevrolet down pit road for gas and an adjustment. Holman would restart in the fourth position. Then when the next caution came out he came back down pit road for tires.
Again he restarted fourth. The battle for the top spot was heating up as the top runners, Rogers, Agnew, Morgan and Holman approached lap 200.

“South Carolina Native Off To Solid Start For Championship Crown”
CONCORD, North Carolina (August 31, 2010) - - No one said becoming a champion is easy. Veteran racecar driver A.J. Frank knows that. However, he also knows that determination can lead you almost anywhere, and for the Mac Hill Motorsports (MHM) driver; the “d” word blasted the Bluffton, South Carolina native to a third place finish in the Cabarrus Boys & Girls Club 250 at Concord (N.C.) Speedway this past Saturday night.
Frank returning to the wheel of the No. 56 Speedco, Inc. / Lucas Oil / 3 Wide Apparel Chevrolet Impala for the first time since Iowa Speedway earlier this month knew that Concord was no easy task but he was hoping that with the minds and mentality surrounding his Mooresville, North Carolina-based team, their confidence would turn into ability on the track.
Mac Hill Motorsports rented the legendary short track up for a private test session on Friday which allowed the MHM operation to shake down their Impala and prepare for Saturday night’s contest. While the team made strides throughout the day, Frank was optimistic heading into the one-day show under the North Carolina moon.
In the first practice session on Saturday, Frank mounted the eighth fastest lap after whipping his Chevrolet bowtie around the track in 17.367 seconds at 103.645 miles per hour. Looking for a pick-up in the final practice session, Frank went to work with new crew chief Todd Myers, the duo put their heads together to try and improve the handling of their No. 56 Jack McNeilly-owned automobile.

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. (Aug. 30, 2010) – Chase Elliott overcame a crash in practice and some misfortune in the race to score a seventh-place finish in Saturday’s Cabarrus Boys and Girls Club 250 at Concord Motor Speedway.
The 250 was the first of five USARracing championship series events, and Elliott entered the race in 19th place in points with 98 markers to make up.
The debut of the Red Bull colors on his Ford didn’t look exactly like he had planned. Elliott wrecked in testing on Friday after only a handful of laps on the track. The team opted to repair the severely damaged rear frame as their back-up car was already prepared for a test on Monday at Bristol Motor Speedway.
So the wounded car was transported to a local shop for repair.

After Practice Crash, Stephen & Team Stay Upbeat in Pro Cup Championship Series Opener
Stephen Nasse's USARacing Pro Cup Series Championship Series opener Saturday at Concord Speedway (NC) started strong, with a very fast car in practice. Then, later in practice, the day went sour in a hurry when the SNR #51 slid into the wall in turn one. But, the team quickly unloaded a backup car, that was set up for Bristol Motor Speedway (TN), got it set back up for Concord and Nasse was able to fight back for a top-10 finish.

Concord, NC (August 27, 2010) -- No one ever said life would be easy. It’s not. But for 400,000 people in The United States, the simplest things in life are quite a challenge.
Those 400,000 people - and quickly counting - have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis - or MS - is a chronic and often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system - which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another.
No one is immune. Even children have been diagnosed. Although more commonly found among women than men, MS does not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, religion, age, or any other factor.

Concord, NC (August 26, 2010) -- Lincolnton, North Carolina’s Ryan Heavner is a rookie in USAR Pro Cup Series competition this year, but he’s already running like a champion. With an impressive ninth position in the current championship standings, second in the Rookie-of-the-Year standings, and a string of top-ten finishes behind him, the future is looking bright for the driver of the #14 Elite Auto Collision Chevrolet.
Heavner will head into the August 28 USAR Pro Cup Series Cabarrus Boys & Girls Club 250 at Concord (NC) Speedway with the strength of a seventh-place result in the last series outing behind him. That finish came at Langley (VA) Speedway on August 14.
Adding to the likelihood that 14-year-old Heavner will perform well at Concord is his previous success at the unique facility. Competing in The Pro Challenge Series in 2009, he picked up his first of four wins on the season there.

CONCORD, N.C. – After sitting out the majority of the 2010 USARacing Pro Cup Series season due to yet another devastating engine failure, 19-year-old Trevor Farbo plans to make a return at his hometown track.
As the Cabarrus Boys & Girls Club 250 at Concord Speedway quickly approaches, Farbo is hard at work preparing his race car and rallying the funding he needs to race.
“It’s extremely disheartening to be stuck on the sidelines without a sponsor,” said Trevor. “I lost quite a bit of my own money after blowing that last motor, and I have been unable to find a marketing partner that would allow me to go racing again.”
Despite the lack of any outside sponsorship, this youngster is absolutely determined to race; even if it means making significant personal sacrifices.
